Our History
Boy Scout Troop 295 was founded in December 1970 by leaders from Cub Scout Pack 295. The first meetings of the Troop were held in the Lohmanns' garage. Since then, meetings have been held regularly at Lindbergh Elementary School, Sunshine Elementary School, Clairemont Faith Center, Lindbergh Park, Kearny Mesa Rec Center, Atonement Lutheran Church and our current home, Clairemont Lutheran Church.

Over the years, Troop 295 has produced 60 Eagle Scouts. Service projects led by these Scouts have included trail building and re-building, replacing vegetation, painting interiors and exteriors of various buildings, creating information kiosks and trail markers for local parks, and creating a lighted cross for Atonement Lutheran Church.
Our Philosophy
Troop 295 is a boy led Troop. We believe in the principle that the Scouts lead and the adults guide.

Troop meetings are run by the Senior Patrol Leader (or his assistant in his absence). Meetings and campouts are planned by the Patrol Leaders Council. Our annual calendar is put together by the Scouts and approved by the Troop Committee (adults).

We strive to conduct at least 8 weekend campouts, one longer spring camp, and one week long summer camp each year.
We also try to conduct several service projects during the year, with an emphasis on conservation related projects. See our Useful Links page for a link to some service opportunities.
